Simply excellent nothing negative at all
Alison
We were a family of 6 adults and a dog and loved our stay at The Old Bakehouse. A gorgeous property, high standards of cleanliness and packed with everything you need. We used the BBQ a few times and again had everything needed. Addition of a hot tub was great and we used it every day. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality accommodation
We had an amazing stay at the cottage and surroundings were beautiful , we would highly recommend
The Old Bakehouse was a lovely cottage, exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. Delabole is well located, has a fish & chip shop and a well stocked Spar shop but its a shame that the pub is closed. The walk to the pub had it been open was up a very steep lane from the cottage. Even though it was only a kilometre the gradient was too much for some but there are some lovely pubs, with good food just a short drive away. The hot tub was very welcome after a day out exploring and we even managed a few BBQs with the gas bbq.
Edward
We had a wonderful family holiday in the Old Bakehouse. We were warmly welcomed by Debbie and reassured she was on call if needed. The venue is stunning. Thank you Sykes Cottages for organising a great place to stay
Richard
Amazing property!
The Old Bakehouse was cosy, well equipped and really comfortable. The open plan is ideal for those travelling with children. There is an enclosed patio with the option to hire the hot tub, though we didnt. The location was lovely off the beaten track in a beautifully maintained area with two other cottages. The bedrooms were a great size with very comfortable beds. As the weather wasnt good we couldnt sit outside, however it looks ideal when you can. We were really pleased with our stay at the cottage and would certainly recommend it.
Such a beautiful property, exactly like the pictures shown. Very well maintained throughout, cant speak highly enough of how much we enjoyed our stay at The Old Bakehouse. Very accommodating when we had a query before our stay. Thank you
Thank you for your prompt resolution regards to this property the old bakery the boiler failed due to an unavoidable fault resulting in you moving us to the Courtyard property next door. Therefore my feedback relates to the Courtyard Cottage. an equally impressive well equipped and serviced property. This is the second time that we have stayed at a property within the Helland Barton Farm collection and once again we were not disappointed. Thank you for providing a comfortable homely property.

This group of cottages is beautiful, peaceful and well put together. It provided us with a superb base for a family Christmas. It's well equipped and spacious while keeping a cosy feel. Everything was spotless and well cared for. You do need a car as beaches, pubs and restaurants are not in walking distance. My only negative comments are the sofas are not overly comfortable and some walking maps would be helpful as there's plenty of footpaths but no idea of what went where! We stayed at Christmas, and whilst a tree was provided is was just that a tree! A few lights on it would have been nice! Having said that we'd definitely book again and not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Perfect stay, didn't want to leave
Robert
The cottage was beautiful, we couldn't fault it. It was so peaceful and we were very pleased with our stay. We would like to book again and return to the property.
Richard
The Old Bakehouse was immaculate and is highly recommended!
Absolutely beautiful property in a quiet secluded location. Spotlessly clean , high end appliances, lovely furnishings , it was like a show home . Especially loved having the coffee machine , we have since bought one for ourselves It was a nice touch . We have also started purchasing Ecover and Method products since our stay, the same as you use, There is absolutely nothing that I could, or would wish to leave negative feedback about . The owners have obviously done their homework and thought of everything needed for a perfect stay, but havent skimped on cost in the process. I realise now that Im home living in a busy city how much I miss the calm and tranquility and lovely views Please thank the lovely maintenance man, didnt get to see him before we left to say goodbye, but what a lovely guy and an asset to your team !!
Karina
We enjoyed our time staying at the old bake house. I have listed pros and cons of our stay. Lovely and quiet area with dog walks straight from the property. Excellent BBQ which we used regularly. Very comfortable beds in each room. Only a 15 minute drive into Wadebridge then a little further to either Rock or Padstow. Could not turn the shower in the ensuite temperature down. We would have appreciated a childsdog gate for the stairs. I looked for one but unable to find one. We had to improvise with some chairs. Although there was a gift of wine and a candle we would have really preferred some milk in the fridge, maybe some local biscuits. There is nothing in the house to get you started. Cant even make yourself a cup of tea. We stay in holiday cottages regularly and this is the only place we have stayed that didnt provide basics like this. So come prepared with basic essentials. Despite the cons we would stay at the Old Bakehouse again as it is a lovely place to stay.

The Old Bakehouse was amazing . . we all wanted to live there forever. It had everything we needed, we just needed to take food and drink. Decorated so nice throughout and great open plan layout which worked really well for our group of 5. We were given a bottle of sparkly and some chocolate which was much appreciated. We asked for a superking to be split into 2 singles which suited our group better and this was arranged with no problems. High end appliances throughout. ample parking for 2 cars. We all really enjoyed our accommodation and stay very much . . highly recommended cottage. It did say there was no ironing board so we took a small one but there was one in cleaning cupboard. overall . . BRILLIANT!
Beautiful cottage, well maintained with all the facilities needed for a lovely holiday. It rained most of the week however the cottage was lovely which made a bad holiday into a good one. Would certainly consider returning to Helland barn. Location was good.
Fantastic cottage, cosy warm and comfortable. Had a lovely relaxing holiday and would recommend it to friends and family. Would love to know what mattress is in the ensuite room as it was so comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay at The Old Bakehouse. It was just the right size for the 5 of us and the house has everything we needed. We like the location, not too far to Port Isaac, Padstow and Boscastle. Theres a SPAR shop a couple minutes away. It was a lovely holiday!
Caroline
Its a shame we didnt have that 3rd kingsize bed set up as listed in advert it caused a few eruptions with my children it was something my smallest was really looking forward to. The house could do with some more bowls for serving food in for kitchen and some BBQ tools didnt feel right using the kitchen tools! The directions to house initially could do with changing the White House on the directions has now been painted green. Some nice knowledge of some walks for the area in the cottage would be useful so may beautiful areas we explored you can walk to the slate quarry. Other then that a beautiful stay I enjoyed the peace and quite. Lovely sized cottage for us.
This is a beautiful home with plenty of space for a family and dog. Although we initially thought it was a little remote, we actually realised after a few days that it is in a great location for several excellent beaches and so much to do in North Cornwall. We are planning to return next year as we had such a great time here and would love to come back and relax in this truly lovely property.
The iocation of the cotrage was perfect with walks literally on tbe doirstep. The cottage itself was eveything we expected and more. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. It was warm & very comfortable and would definitely come back.
