Court House Farmhouse Reviews

Caroline
The property fully met our needs. There was plenty of comfortable space for all guests, both in terms of bedrooms and living space. Just two of the group made use of the hot tub, which provided a very pleasant relaxation after time out exploring the area. Overall the accommodation was very well equipped one very minor suggestion would be for a wider range of knives for food preparation. The rural location was great, yet still close to Lyme, West Bay etc, for getting out and about. It was lovely to see and hear the sheep in the next field and the young cows in the barn.
Carole
We loved the property. The children spent lots of time in the play barn, despite there being no heating. It was warm and welcoming and lovely to have Christmas tree and decorations.
Overall the facilities are good, except the cleanliness. The cottage was full of mould everywhere. Couldn't use the wardrobes as they were full of spiders, spider webs and mould. The barn facility was good and kids loved it. Electric showers with very low pressure water and couldn't use all at the same time. The hot tub was cleaned on the first day only, the water was not being topped up, but it was a nice quiet separate place to enjoy the time. The outside was awesome with some very naturesque scenes. Living room and conservatory was very useful. Kitchen was very well equipped. Lighting outside the barn was very poor and kids had to be very careful when returning from barn to Cottage. Overall the stay could've been much better if the cottage would've kept mould free as for the first 2 days we couldn't sleep in our bedrooms due to mould.

We were at the house with 4 generations of family and found the property to be ideal for all of us. Plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms, superb conservatory with lovely views. House is very clean and has lots of cooking pans etc. and crockery. Garden is ideal for young children and the dog. The games barnhot tub was a welcome bonus. The village is picturesque with a famous church but the pub is quite a walk and has limited open hours. Charmouth beach is very popular.
Vivien
The house and grounds were ideal for our group of 6 adults and a dog. ,and would comfortably have taken more. Our only complaint might have been the narrow winding roads leading to the property. Fortunately we cooked our own evening meals, as apart from the one village pub, it was some way to drive for an evening meal.
Lovely place, everything there that you need and more would highly recommend
Great stay at a lovely quiet location. Everything you could want from the kitchen to the entertainment barn. Hopefully be back soon. Missing the cows already!
Robert
Lovely holiday location and excellent internal layout for 3 generations of family, with games room for all ages and stages, for English weather. Pipping hot water and well equipped kitchen for all meal styles. Large enclosed garden for dog and small children and delightful countryside views with outdoor seating for everyone. Thank you again.
Had a lovely relaxing time with our family, the amenities were all we needed. Was lovely to see the cows and sheep with their lambs
Perfect accommodation for a relaxing break for 10 adults. Plenty of space and well equipped. Games room a bonus. Excellent communication with the owners and appreciated a later checkout time.
Gillian
We had a wonderful stay. Suited us very well as a three generation family. Grandparents 60 down to 5 week old grandchild ! Facilities were brilliant and in excellent working order at the beginning and end of our stay. Thank you. Just a little note that better overhead lighting in the lounge would have helped the knitters amongst us, of an evening, because we adults did not bother to watch any television. But overall wonderful.

This property was ideal for our annual family get together. Peaceful and quiet, the hot tub and barn were ideal if it rained. Beaches are close by and cycling in the area was great. We had a lovely time and it will be on our list when we book something next year.

Great place, excellent facilities! Keen to come back next year!
Elizabeth
The property is in a lovely position with beaches and other attractions easily accessible a short drive away. The owners were available and very responsive to any queries we had. The games barn and hot tub were an excellent facility for wet days and lively children.
Lovely place apart from the mosquitoes. Spacious, clean, quiet. Spent quite a bit of time in the barn. Very pleasant but imagine could be quite chilly over the winter.
Rebecca
Fantastic property, really spacious, great for large families. The games room was great fun, including the hot tub. Well equipped, and had everything you needed. There was a few minor niggles, wonky toilet seats, and squeaky beds. On the whole really clean, a few areas could have been cleaner along skirting, etc, and a few dishes. The lady who looked after the property was lovely. Would definitely use again!
A lovely, comfortable property in a beautiful setting which was plenty big enough for the 9 of us from three generations to get together. The games barn and hot tub were well used because of the summer we have had this year and when the sun managed to shine we also loved the garden and barbecue. The cottage was very well resourced and the only minor quibble we had was that the double beds had double sized duvets which seemed a bit small! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a big holiday house in this part of Dorset.
Amazing location, and a beautiful cottage. Clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend and book same cottage again. Minor niggles, gravel surrounding cottage made it slightly more difficult for our nan. She can't walk unaided, so entering and leaving were a little tricky, however she totally enjoyed her stay. The only other point was that some of the mattresses were a little soft for our taste, but that is personal preference and didn't spoil our enjoyment and we will definitely book again.
We were 4 couples and a toddler and the Cottage easily accommodated us. There were plenty of cookingcleaningtoiletshower facilities and room for us all inside and out. The Games barn and hot tub was a standout feature, as was the location peaceful and idyllic. Thoroughly recommended if you want basic accommodation in a lovely location that takes up to 11 people.
One of the best equipped places we have stayed the only thing missing was a breadknife

The farmhouse was very big plenty of room for all of my family lots of garden space for the kids to play in,games room was very good kept everyone occupied hot tub was excellent we really enjoyed our weekend there enough parking for 3 cars we would definitely recommend
Jennie
We had a lovely stay at the Court House Farmhouse. We really enjoyed our tour of the farm given by Sue, she was very informative and we loved seeing how the robotic milking machine worked, amazing! It's a great place for a family gathering, and there was something for our 3 generations to enjoy. The games room was a real winner and the hot tub was an added bonus. This isn't a criticism just a tip for anyone else booking the farmhouse, there isn't a hairdryer at the property or a separate mattress for the travel cot. But on saying that we had the best time, and have already recommended it to some of our friends and family
Kenneth
The property was excellent, in a beautiful countryside setting with everything provided that you possibly need. The games room was a real bonus.
Pamela
Four ex and current NHS secretaries spent a brilliant week in Courthouse Farmhouse. House was very comfortable and warm. We had some wet and windy weather, but with the addition of the games barn giving us many happy hours of table tennis, darts and 9 pin bowling, we were kept very busy! Thanks to Sue for letting us see the robotic milking and the numerous calves. And thanks to Kay and your ladies for a well kept comfortable holiday cottage.
Stephanie
Lovely farmhouse with everything we needed for a multi generational stay. Views from conservatory were lovely, especially early morning as the mist lifted. Ideal location for touring the area. Owners are very helpful. We shall hopefully be returning next year.
Nicola
This place was amazing, the only down side was the snooker and pool tables, as you cant play, the tables are not straight and the balls rolled into the middle no matter what shot you took.
Christopher
Games barn not great pool and snooker tables broken, skittles not really great condition
Wonky toilet seat in showeroom downstairs, otherwise perfect cottage for family in beautiful surroundings. Thank you to Kay for checking hot tub daily. Thank you to Sue for a very informative, interesting tour around your farm and taking the time to let children have photos on a tractor. The robotic milking was amazing. Overall , a lovely property including play barn & sauna , nice enclosed gardens, close to lovely beach Lyme Regis & wonderful for Fossil foredging at Charmouth beach , we all went home with Fossells.
Courthouse Farmhouse is a spacious, comfortable, well equipped holiday home, ideal for large family gatherings. Our visit was multi generational so the layout and size of property suited us very well. The country location was idyllic yet within easy reach of amenities. We spent a wonderful long weekend at the farmhouse and were sad to leave. Fully intend to return for another visit.
As a three generation family holiday venue, we could not have chosen much better. The layout of the house suited us perfectly and the big kitchendining room have us lots of space at breakfast time. We were lucky to have fantastic weather so the big garden with all the tables and chairs gave us an alternative seating space for evenings. Would happily stay here again.
Christine
We all had a very enjoyable time at Court House Farmhouse. The facilities were adequate and true to their description. Beds very comfortable and so quiet at night with no traffic noise. The views were amazing and we spent every evening playing games in the garden. The hot tub was made use of and enjoyed by all. Lovely walks through the village and interesting church to look round. The dog enjoyed it too. Would recommend this property.
Raymond
Had a lovely week at Court House Farmhouse, Garden was beautiful with amazing views, my grandchildren loved seeing the sheep in the next field to us. House was great & games barn was brilliant but both were a little tired & needed updating. Saying that would definitely stay there again in the future. My only downside was the very narrow road getting to & from the property.
I was assured the hot tub was cleaned, and it wasn't. It had a lot of grit in it. And the sides were very built up dirt. The fridges and freezers were off. Previous visitors underwhere behind the sofa and previous rubbish also left behind and under many of the furniture.
Courthouse Farm was a lovely home from home and was a super space to meet up with the whole family and two dogs. It was a treat to be on the farm and seeing the cows and sheep from the windows and garden . Beautiful, breathtaking views from every window. Garden itself conveniently for us divided in two was fenced and safe for our dogs. Facilities were generous, peaceful and close to great places to visit. Good parking, loved the jacuzzi and games barn. Host was lovely. We had a perfect week.
Teacosy would be useful. Cleanliness generally could be better, particularly of kitchen shelves, cupboards and bathrooms. Otherwise just as we remembered from our last visit, 3 years ago. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Patrick
Nice, if basic, cottage. Ideal for a young family. The play barn was useful as was the hot tub. The Garden, however, is stunning and worth the price by itself.
