Orchard Cottage Reviews

Loved the property very cosy and warm and the hot tub was lovely. Maintenance of hot tub and grounds was amazing. Listening to gibbons from nearby zoo each morning was beautiful. I can only say one negative thing and that was we didn't realise there was a sloped gravel path down to cottage from car which my Mom with walking issues had trouble with. Would just recommend anyone with mobility issues check they can manage the path before booking.
My daughter and I have had a wonderful two weeks in the cottage. All staff were very friendly, and we were impressed the way the hot tub was cleaned twice a day. The cottage is in a very good quiet position and we loved hearing the gibbons and peacocks every day. Lots to do and see in the area, Watchet harbour really lovely as was Dunster Castle. Thanks to Lloyd and staff for making it all so memorable.
Beautiful little cottage perfect situated for getting about the complex is ... Beautiful little cottage perfect situated for getting about the complex is immaculate no noise lovely hot tub maintained twice a day
Lovely setting with a private sunny garden. Good outdoor space for entertaining. Wonderful hot tub. Would be small for 4 people as space inside was limited. Good kitchen appliances, clean and adequately equipped. Friendly staff. We enjoyed our week. Thank you. Ray
Very peaceful and relaxing, cottage was spotless and comfortable, regular checking of the hot tub, lady attending hot tub was very polite and friendly. Will definitely go back.
Comfortable quiet cottage in beautiful surroundings. Not only a pear tree but two partridges! Unobtrusive cleaning of the hot tub concerns me about others weve used.
Richard
Great holiday home, well maintained and very clean. Only comment would be that the curtains in the bedrooms let in a lot of daylight.
Nice little cottage close to all kind of interesting places like Watchet, Dunster, Minehead. Its comfortable and quiet, the sounds of gibbons and a peacock at the background are funny and not annoying
Had a great 7 day break at orchid cottage, nice and quiet and the hot tub was great and cleaned every day. Thanks again for a superb week, try and get back in the summer
Carolann

Fantastic cottage with all the amenities you need with a lovely view and very quiet area so very relaxing and the extra bonus was the hot tub. Very close to beaches, countryside walks and other areas of interest. Would highly recommend.
A beautiful little cottage with everything you need and is perfect and private. Cannot recommend enough. We would go back one day. Thank you for making our holiday special.
Generally lived up to expectations. The cottage felt like a home from home. Spacious and comfortable except for the beds. WiFi was hit and miss. Hot tub excellent. Extremely clean, and everything was there when needed. On the one occasion we had a problem the toaster blew a fuse Loyd was over within 5 minutes to deal with it.
Lovely cottage and hot tub. Clean secluded but near lots of things to see and do. Definitely recommend
Lawrence
Beautiful cottage in pleasant surroundings and ideally situated to visit the nearby towns of Minehead and Dunster. Hot tub is a welcome addition. Our weeks stay was very enjoyable. Only negative is the two pubs close by cant be easily reached without using the main roads so a bit precarious at night. We opted for a local taxi company. Mark at Mr Cabs was excellent and reliable.
Geoffrey
Lovely surroundings. small and compact ideal for 3 adults and a dog.
Kirsty

There was plenty to do in the local area, including visiting Watchet harbour and beaches, visiting Dunster village and castle and driving in to Minehead. The cottage was set in beautiful grounds and it was a bonus having a hot tub. It was also great that the cottage was dog friendly.
Jeanette
Everything you could think of was provided Lovely cottage with hot tub. Which was cleaned every day. Lloyd was on hand for anything that needed attention. The cottage we stayed in was a bit bijou for 4 adults but with the outside space it was fab , and sat out in the warm evenings. There are larger holiday accommodation at Shells .. We had trips out to the zoo across the road from cottage Minehead, Weston Super Mare , Lynton & Lynmouth beautiful Cheddar Gorge defo & Taunton Watchet for the Pebbles Pub & order your fish & chips from the chippy next door and eat them in the pub whilst having a cider .shout out to Dean !! Local taxi firm great and friendly they close at 22 00 All in all its a great accommodation setup and Lloyd, Lynn and the team are great , We will be re booking Thanks
Elizabeth
You are a dog friendly but there are no dog bins on site
Peaceful, spotlessly clean and family friendly
After a few stressful months we were the first family back in after lock down and I can hand on heart 100% assure all future visitors that the cottage and the wider site were spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. The hot tub was deep cleaned, as you would expect, between each booking but it was also cleaned each morning, ensuring it was as clean on our last day as day one. We were here for a week and the weather was fair all week with a couple of glorious days. Watchet is a lovely harbour town, the kids loved both the ice-cream and the crabbing in equal amounts. We had our dog with us and with this and certain restrictions still in place, activities were limited for us. We did use Somerset Adventures to do an Escape the Woods (think Escape Room), it was huge amounts of fun, even though we needed an embarrassing amount of clues from Ben who ran the activity. The games in the cottage were also used lots with Battleships and Rummikub being our favourites. Clearly we were also in the hot tub regularly too! I would highly recommend the White Horse Inn nearby. It is a beautiful pub set alongside the river; friendly, good value and the food was nice too! Overall an excellent holiday with some most lovely memories made, thank you to Lynn, Lloyd and the team!
Gareth

Kimberly
We arrived Saturday afternoon to be immediately greeted by young lady called Gemma. Gemma showed us around went through how everything worked including the Hot Tub. Its very peaceful & the wild life is great we even got to see a woodpecker. Very central to everything & Whatchit is wonderful little harbour. Also just around the corner there is the Cider farm. Again another must visit. Everyone is friendly & very helpful. We would definitely go back & recomend this wonderful place to both friends & family. We hope to go back later on this year
Great staff onsite, discreet but available at a moments notice if required. Well maintained, clean property.
The lodging was nice as well as the hot tub. The major problem I had was in leaving. The message that checkout was at 1000 am was delivered in several notices and in person the day before departure but because of a snow storm a day and half earlier I couldn't leave the property because you didn't plow the entrance road or driveway. I realize this snow storm was very unusual but you had a full day and half to arrange to have someone plow. I ended up shoveling out the driveway myself just so i could meet my plane. This took over 3 hours and it should have been your responsibility to clear your drive to the road, not mine. You shared several times your concern about how are the new guests going to get in yet very little concern over how I was going to leave.
